Over March and the beginning of April 2019 a mix of Year 7, 8 and 10 pupils were introduced to the poems of “The Butterfly Ball” by William Plomer. After each choosing a poem, they envisaged the scenes and designed an illustrative tile. Over two workshop sessions the pupils recreated their designs into porcelain paper-clay relief tiles.
It was a lovely atmosphere, and all the pupils have created marvellous, unique tiles… Now we have to wait for them to dry out so they can be fired and decorated!
