Botanical Impressions, Sgraffito Tiles & Bug Bowls

Weekly Tuesday after-school and Wednesday lunch workshops have seen pupils from across all the year groups busy making clay plant pockets and bug water bowls for the school’s wildlife gardens, as well as sgraffito and botanical tiles for the upcoming New Mills Art Trail in September. We are all very excited and going to be quite busy in the next half of the Summer term – the ACE “Wild about Ceramics” project has a window display for Art in the Window as well as the entire New Mills Library for the Art Trail as part of the New Mills Festival (13-29 September 2019).

All pieces made will be Bisq fired after the half-term hols – then will be decorated in Stoneware glazes and oxides by the students…
