At the start of the new Autumn term, a small number of Hazel Grove High School staff (Teachers and Learning Support Assistants) attended an after-school session. For the first half, Year 9 pupils from the project shared their skills and knowledge by demonstrating how to create impressed flora porcelain discs. The pupils thoroughly enjoyed themselves “teaching the Teachers”…! For the second half, I demonstrated how to create a Sgraffito tile, and asked the staff to illustrate a memory or thought they associate with the idea of “the garden”. The results were fascinating, and the final pieces shall be displayed alongside the pupils’ artwork in the School gardens!
