I have led the “Collaborative Artist Residency” project at Hazel Grove High School since May 2017, working with last year’s Yr8 and Yr9 pupils. Workshops have so far combined ceramic and mixed media work, research in and around green spaces, and engagement with botanical collections and specimens. Part 2 of the project is now ongoing with these Yr9 and Yr10 pupils. As well as this, current Yr7 and Yr8 pupils have been invited to contribute to the project: pupils will explore a range of ceramic and mixed media techniques, through engagement with Entomology collections and the School’s gardens. As with Part 1, this collaboration will result in the artwork being displayed within the School’s gardens, and exhibited at a Manchester gallery in December 2017.
Images and information about the Part 2 sessions will be displayed and updated under this heading.
